Swift observations of AT2025ngt
Authors: S. Campana (INAF-Brera)
Keywords: Supernova
Abstract:
We observed AT2025ngt with Swift, detecting the transient in all the UVOT filters but not in the X-rays.

We observed the Fast, Blue, and Luminous Optical Transient 2025ngt (ZTF25aaurzyo, Camilo et al., AstroNote 2025-190) and later classified it as a SN Type Ic-BL (Perley et al., AstroNote 2025-193) with Swift on June 24, 2025, ~12d after the discovery.

We do not detect any X-ray emission at the position of the transient with a 3sigma upper limit of 4.25E-03 cts/s in a 3532 s exposure. At a distance of 450 Mpc, this turns out to limit the 0.3-10 keV unabsorbed luminosity to L<3x1042 erg s-1 (for a Gamma=2 power-law spectrum, absorbed at the Galactic NH=6x1020 cm-2).

AT2025ngt is detected in all the UVOT filters with (AB) magnitudes of:
V= 18.63 +/- 0.21  (183.4 s)
B= 19.16 +/- 0.18  (183.4 s)
U= 19.87 +/- 0.17  (183.4 s)
W1= 20.73 +/- 0.18  (551.4 s)
M2= 21.14 +/- 0.15  (1379.2 s)
W2= 21.28 +/- 0.16  (918.6 s)
