A. Floers, C. Vogl, S. Taubenberger, G. Csoernyei, M. G. Cudmani, A. Holas, W. Hillebrandt, S. H. Suyu (MPA Garching), B. Leibundgut, J. Spyromilio (ESO), S. J. Smartt, M. Dobson (QUB), R. Kotak (Turku), R. Bruch, A. Gal-Yam (Weizmann), C. Lemon (Lausanne) report/s a classification of object: SN 2020yts
Type: SN IIRedshift: 0.041
Remarks: An optical spectrum of SN 2020yts, obtained on 2020 November 6 with the ESO Very Large Telescope UT1, the FORS2 spectrograph, and grism 300V, shows a blue continuum with prominent P-Cygni lines of hydrogen and helium superimposed. Based on the light curve, we estimate a phase of 9d after the explosion. The spectroscopic host-galaxy redshift has been taken from SDSS.
The following Classification spectrum was provided:
Obsdate: 2020-11-07 00:25:35
Instrument: FORS2
Telescope: The Very Large Telescope - UT1
Remarks: Quick-reduction spectrum, telluric correction applied.
