Kotak (Turku), R. Bruch, A. Gal-Yam (Weizmann), C. Lemon (Lausanne) report/s a classification of object: SN 2020zia

Type: SN II
Redshift: 0.052

Remarks: An optical spectrum of SN 2020zia, obtained on 2020 November 14 with the ESO Very Large Telescope UT1, the FORS2 spectrograph, and grism 300V, shows a blue continuum with weak P-Cygni lines of hydrogen and helium superimposed. From the spectroscopic appearance and the photometric constraints, we estimate a phase about 7d after explosion. The redshift has been determined from narrow host-galaxy emission lines.

The following Classification spectrum was provided:

Obsdate: 2020-11-15 00:53:59
Instrument: FORS2
Telescope: The Very Large Telescope - UT1
