Kenta Taguchi (Kyoto University), Keiichi Maeda (Kyoto University) report/s a classification of object: SN 2024dru

Type: SN Ia
Redshift: 0.012005

Remarks: Our quick-look spectrum shows prominent absorption features of Si II and iron blend. By using GELATO, we classify this object as an SN Ia with the Si II absorption minimum corresponding to ~10,000 km/s. We also note that the top two SNe Ia in QoF are both SNe Ia-CSM (SNe Ia 2002ic and PTF 11kx), and hence this object may belong to this category. Note that the effect of the emission lines from the host galaxy is minimized in the GELATO classification - here, we trim the spectrum between 4100 and 6600 angstroms (observed) as an input to GELATO.

The following Classification spectrum was provided:

Obsdate: 2024-03-03 11:48:38
Instrument: Other
Telescope: Other

Remarks: We performed a spectroscopic follow-up observation of AT2024dru with KOOLS-IFU mounted on the 3.8-m Seimei telescope at Okayama Observatory of Kyoto University. The spectral resolution is ~ 500, and the wavelength coverage is 4100-8500 A.
