Moira Andrews(UCSB/LCO), Brian Hsu (UofA), Joseph Farah, Kathryn Wynn, D. Andrew Howell, Curtis McCully report/s a classification of object: SN 2026gzx

Type: SN Ia
Redshift: 0.004955

Remarks: We report the classification of AT 2026gzx as a SN Ia 99aa-like using SNID (Blondin & Tonry 2007, ApJ, 666, 1024) and SNID-SAGE (Stoppa, F., (in prep)). The supernova is visually located in NGC 3955 (z = 0.004973, d = 20.600 Mpc, value from NED). SNID-SAGE reports a redshift from the spectrum of z = 0.004955 +/- 0.002, consistent with the host galaxy redshift from NED. The best match for this spectrum was SN 1999aa, 10 days before maximum brightness. Additional follow-up is encouraged.
